CALLED TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Minnehaha Conservation District Supervisors was called to order by Chairman Oyen.

The agenda was mailed out prior to the board meeting.
MOTION by Christopherson; seconded by Wolles to approve the agenda as printed along with the additional items. Five ayes.
MINUTES
The minutes of the regular July Meeting were emailed or mailed out prior to the board meeting.
MOTION by Johnson; seconded by Wolles to approve the minutes of the regular June board meeting. Five ayes.
TREASURER’S REPORT
MOTION by Christopherson; seconded by Wolles to accept the Treasurer’s Report as printed. Five ayes. The board would like a more detailed report for future meeting.
MOTION by Christopherson; seconded by Johnson to cancel the Gevik checking account and transfer the funds to the general checking account.
JULY BILLS APPROVED
MOTION by Christopherson; seconded by Johnson to accept the bills as presented. Five ayes.
ACTIVITIES REPORT
WETLANDS: We still have around 200 requests on file.
CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM (crp): FSA/NRCS have processed approximately 100 CRP – Emergency Haying/Grazing requests.
ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY INCENTIVE PROGRAM (EQIP): We funded another five applications for the National Water Quality Initiative for $564,376. That brings our FY-2012 total to 11 applications for $1,337,332 in Minnehaha County.
WILDLIFE HABITAT INCENTIVES PROGRAM (WHIP): We have received $300,000 in funding to aid in fire recovery and drought relief. We are currently taking applications for cover crops until August 15th. This is a very short signup. If applications are accepted, funds will be obligated by September 3rd. Only counties that were represented on the US Drought Monitor map as D3 or D4 as of July 31, 2012 are eligible.
OLD BUSINESS
LOCAL WORK GROUP MEETING: The results were handed out. See attached minutes.
5525 TRACTOR ON CRAIGSLIST: The tractor is listed on Craigslist.
MOTION by Johnson; seconded by Christopherson to remove the loader and brackets and relist the tractor at $36,500. Five ayes. The change will be made on Craigslist and a new email will be sent to all districts also. Tom and John will build a pallet bracket for the tractor.
DUMP TRAILER: Sold for $7,2500.00.
SECOG MAINTENANCE: No report.
WRP SPOTCHECKS: There were 21 contracts checked. John handed out a profit and loss report.
TOPSOIL MEETING: A contract is being written and we hope to start in the near future with our partnership.
TOWNSHIP SPRAYING: A profit and loss report was handed out.
WEBSITE UPDATE: The board would like the website updated monthly. We need to get our webmaster to give us control so we can make the updates ourselves.
GREAT PLAINS DRILL ASSESSMENT: A handout with needed repairs for the 10′ and 6′ Great Plains Drill was distributed. The board gave permission to order the parts needed for the 10′ drill.
STATE CONVENTION: Amy and John will attend both days, and Reid and Ronald will attend Monday only.
NEW BUSINESS
SPECIAL MEETING: The meeting will be Tuesday, September 4th at the Renner Fire Hall at 3:00 pm. Amy will reserve the hall.
GEVIK TOUR: The tour will be Thursday, September 27th at 3:30 pm. The monthly board meeting will be held prior to the meeting at the Hartford Bowling Alley. The board wants politicians, township board members, Minnehaha County Commissioners, Sioux Falls City Council, Izaak Walton League, GF & P, Brian Scott with the Department of Ag, Lowell Grave. Amy will send out a list for review.
GRANT OPPORTUNITIES: We can apply for grants until October 1st.
LAND JUDGING: Will be held October 2nd. A place is yet to be determined.

MOTION by Wolles; seconded by Pfeifer to approve the plans as presented. Five ayes.
